I'm working on the vent windows of my '83 GMC, trying to get the slack out of the latch.. I removed the latch, cleaned up the "drum", torx screw, and lubed the pivot points of the window.. The screw had worked itself out a turn or 2, but when I put everything back together, some slack remained.. I'm thinking maybe a part is missing or worn to the point it fell out..

The chrome "button" on the outside has a rubber gasket between it and the glass. Looking at the pictures, can someone tell me if something fits between the spring washer and the glass?? Sorry for the blurry pics..

Thanks Honky, I didn't think to check with Summit.. That looks to be a "universal" kit as there are way more parts than would fit in one latch.. I have one black rubber/plastic gasket.. Probably need one of the other two plus maybe the white plastic spacer.. I don't see where the second spring would fit.. Their Arlington store is about 100 miles from me.. I'll give them a call..

mine (83 and 84)have a gasket between the spring washer and the glass. I honestly cant tell if it is a plastic washer or a rubber washer that has hardened over time.

I would assume it is a hard plastic washer that acts as a wear plate so the spring washer doesnt damage the glass over time.
