So whenever there's an issue with these trucks and they are so simple to work on it's always too easy to over complicate the issue and it be as simple as a fuse
So I'd like to know if anyone has a checklist to keep from overlooking the simple stuff
If not we should make one and post it up so when we are looking at a problem for a while it can be looked back on and see if we overlooked a simple issue
Thinking maybe a
-no fire issue
-A no start issue
-No light issue
-No shift issue
-Rough running issue
-any one off issues
Just the common things that can cause these and include some variations for different engines
Anyone have a place to start or have their own list as a starting point?
The reason for this is that we've all been there and spent hours on an issue and it's a simple fuse
The manuals are good but sometimes you get weird cases and with the accumulation of years of knowledge a manual made by the guys who live for these trucks is much more appealing to me than a book printed for very stock trucks 30 years ago that haven't been stock for 30 years

Always check for a ground issue first.

I always check for fuel then fire. If no fire usually ignition module if is completely dead or a fouled plug if it is just running rough.
