Whats your opinion on using a 235/75/15 tire on 8.5 wide rim? Rim too wide for that tire?

I googled it and got mixed opinions on this. Some say 235/75/15 can be used up to 8in wide rim only. Others have said that I could run those on a 8.5 wide rim with no issues.

235/75 is a skinny tire. i think it'll be ok. I've seen worse. I've sen skiny tires on 10 and 12 inch rims before, just maybe more prone to coming off or something, mostly if it were severly under inflated. it's also hard to seat if you are doign it yourself.

the range for a 235 is 6"-8". To go another .5" would be fine for street use.
