I have been thinking about restoring my 85 k20 back to stock. I kinda like the narrow tire 4x4 look. I would just need to fix the emissions and get some stock wheels and covers. I think everything else is there. Am I crazy? What is re-sale vaule of stock over modified?

A restored to stock truck would most likely be worth quite a bit more than a heavily modified ride to most people I bet. I say go for it. You don't see many trucks that are just restored back to stock with no modification :High 5:

Have you posted that truck up here before? I definitely think I remember it and that is one beautiful truck  I'd definitely restore that to stock. When building mine I tried keeping the stock "look" but definitely added some of my own custom touches to it along the way.

Yeah I think I posted this picture when I joined the forum. Now that I have working AC again I have been driving it a lot. Driving gets me to thinking. You know what happens when you start thinking.

I bought this truck after we moved from California because you have to have a truck in Tennessee. I think its a law or something. :) Was just going to drive it when I needed to haul stuff. But it has been growing on me. Might just keep it and drive it. Something about that SM465 whine makes me smile. Always liked the look of the Stocks Squares so been thinking about going that way. Too damn hot to drive the Baja Bug anyway.

There's just not much of anything that is sexier than a stock 4x4 square :deal:

How would one find out what wheels the truck had originally? I have the RPO codes and the original order form. Were there many options in 85 for the K20 Custom Deluxe?

I think Retro has some links to some good information on that. Hopefully he'll see this thread and post up.

I like these wheels. They may not be "Factory Original" but they would be in the spirit of a stocker. Some nice 4x4 Center Caps and I think they would look really nice on my black truck. What do you think?
