Spider gear reinstall?

Changed out leaking rear axle seal, so I done both sides and bearings. No issues with that, unfortunately during the process the two spider gears came out. And I am having a hell of time reinstalling them, what's the trick.

Pull the axle shafts out, then it's like a balance/twisting/turning motion. I'm pretty sure you have to do both at the same time otherwise the opposite one wants to fall out. Or they don't want to line up. I can't remember, the last time I did it was a year or two ago.

Put one gear in with the bushing. Turn one side gear so that spider goes past the pin hole. When you go far enough you can put in the second gear and bushing directly opposite of the other.

Put the axle C clips in. Turn the whole diff so the pin hole is facing out and slide the pin in.
