What years SM465 can I swap right into my truck? 83 K20 small block 400 unknown year. I would need the clutch pedal assembly and linkage/master cylinder. There are two on CL right now one says Hydraulic bellhousing for 88-98 IFS trucks (Didn't they switch to driver side drop in 88?) and the other is unknown bellhousing assuming passenger.

Sm465/np208 combo would be the easiest swap. Overall length is the same and you can reuse your drive shafts.

Mechanical linkage. I'm not sure when GM went to hydraulic.
Do you have the linkage yet or no?

You need the shifters for the 205 too! The 208 from the 700r4 will not swap unless you change input gears. And the 208 shift linkage will not operate the 205. As for the hump the 4wd and manual or manual/4wd are the same just that the openings are in different spots. Only the 2wd automatic humps are different.

If you have a 400 don't forget to buy a 400 standard flywheel. A 350 one will not work since the 400 is externally balanced. I figured that you know this but just in case you didn't.

So I was going to go get a rebuilt trans this last weekend and decided to procrastinate a little longer and a steal came up on my local Facebook. I got an sm465, pedals, transfer case (looks like 205 in the pictures) and driveshafts all for.............. 100 bucks. Best deal I have found :) gonna pick it up in the morning

Make sure the plate that the pedals bolt too is included. If it not a hydro setup, make sure it has the springs, z bar and the piece that bolts on the frame. That piece holds the Z bar on.

Forgot to update everyone on it. It's a 465 with a np208. And everything to swap. I'm doing it this weekend. Got a flywheel for the 400 and an 11 in clutch kit. Flywheel called for it. Two questions. Since it's a 208 my rear driveshaft is heavier any benefit or running the lighter one? Also this is my first clutch on a chevy. When I did my Honda I ordered a pilot bearing I had forgotten to this time but the kit came with what looks like a bearing and a bushing. If anyone could chime in and help me out and if it's a pilot bearing and a pilot bushing. If that's what it is what would you recommend running? It's a needle bearing type.
