Started day one on the ex plow truck 84 K20 teardown tonight, And Am looking ahead into the future for new shocks which will be needed and just wondering what you guys are running on your K20s and how they performed. I'm probobly gonna go with a 3.5 inch lift eventually. I'm going to do shocks and anything else it needs while the body is off of the truck.

Different shocks for 3"-4" lift. How far off are your lift plans?

I like rancho 9000's , get your lift on first , use a tape , go to the rancho book and pick your shock length. I run bilstein shocks on my late model trucks and like them as well.

I just put on a set of Rancho RS9000XL's on the stock suspension pending a 4in lift. The shocks are the same up to a 4in. lift.

The best feature of the shocks is that they are capable of having the stiffness adjusted to your preferences. Turned all the way down with the stock suspension made the ride softer and much more comfortable for street usage than the old Dick Cepek's that were previously on there.

Also, Rancho is running a rebate on a set of their shocks for a few more days. I picked mine up from 4wheelparts and the mail-in rebate knocks off another $100.
