Hey everybody,
My truck didnt come with cab lights but I like the look so im installing some. I drilled all the holes but now im having problems wiring them. Im trying to wire the lights in between the two roof panels so it is as clean and factory looking as possible. I just can't figure out to run the wires between the holes doing it between the panels because the only access I have are the wire holes. Is there any tips or tricks to this? Thanks.

You need to give yourself some more working room. The factory holes under the lights are 1&1/4" diameter. Enlarge the pilot holes you have to that size and you should be able to run a fishtape or coathanger back and forth.

I might be able to offer some help. But first I have to ask - what the hell is going on in this image:

First, here is an image showing the layout dimensions of the modifications required in the outer roof skin (as best as I can read it):

The full 2 page installation instructions - included with a complete NOS marker light add-on kit:

Layout dimensions of the lenses as they sit on the roof. This is my truck and it has never been modified - these were installed at the factory:

BTW; many people believe that the wiring - that feeds up from the light switch and into the roof void space - is supposed to be run between the outside of the "A" pillar and the pillar trim molding. That is not true. As factory, it is fed up through the actual casing of the A pillar shell.

My truck came extremely stripped with no headliner and no plastic trim - and the marker light wires were not visible on the outside of the pillar.

As far as the actual mechanics of running the wires up the inside of the pillar and across the roof void space - you really need to buy a fish tape.

A straightened out coat hanger is okay for some jobs but not this one.

Get this at Harbor Freight for $7.99:

The reason the hole I drilled is farther back is because I ordered an ebay set of lights because I didn't realize the $19.99 price on LMC was for all 5 lights. But it was too late by the time I realized that. I guess I'll get the fish tape at harbour freight and try that. Thanks for the help and all the diagrams.

Anyone know where I can connect the wire from the cab lights so that it comes on with all the other running lights? Like where stock wiring lights are connected? Thanks

Use the terminal labeled 3. The roof markers will then be common with the brown wire (circuit 9) that supplies the markers, license plate lights and parking lights.
