Looking at a rear disc conversion on my 78 K15. Conversion kit prices are scary. What other rear end with disc brakes will work for a swap? Thanks...

I've always made my own disc brake kit's. I find a rotor that has my bolt pattern at the junkyard I pick what calipers I'm going to use and I make 2 brackets and 6 spacers. I thought I had a pic of an assembled bracket but can't find it if I do I'll post it. This bracket isn't for your truck but it will give you an idea. The four hole bracket bolts to the rear-end the spacers shift the other bracket inward and you make the spacers long enough to center your caliper. Note the 2 brackets overlap with 3 mounting bolts to give you triangulation to increase rigidity and strength.Found a pic crappy pic but u get the idea.
I'd read this thoroughly before I did anything

Being I have more interest than experience, I'll see what I can come up with in doing this fabrication. Really appreciate the information. Thanks...
