Years ago I got one of them cool refrigerated kinds. used it a lot back then but not so much lately. About 9pm i thought it would be fun to take it to the up coming youth football tournament to keep things cold all day so i pulled it down to dusted it off. Looked inside and, much to my surprise, two unopened large containers of cottage cheese and a half gallon of milk were inside. According to the label on the containers, the last time I used the cooler was on or before 7/14/2010. The smell was...strong. The milk container had failed and the bottom of the cooler is a nice sticky, caked, nasty brown looking stuff. 2 hours cleaning and still not clean and now all I can smell is the funk.

Note to self: Empty cooler before storing it.

Two days of scrubbing with vinegar and leaving coffee grounds in it 24-7 and the smell is mostly gone...or all coffee, can't tell which. Gotta be ready by Saturday.

I feel ya. Let a friend borrow my big Coleman once.... about a year or so later I discovered he left me some ham a carton of eggs various condiments and a gallon of milk... nasty is an understatement... I finally had to let it sit full of bleach water for a week to get the funk out
