I'm getting ready buy a new power steering pump for my 85 C10.

Should I buy just the pump part and put it in my housing or just buy the pump and housing already assembled?

Is installing the pump a major doing or is it straight forward?

The hardest part will be using the puller/installer tool for the pulley.

Keep the housing, install a new pump.

Already have the pulley off, have a puller/installer.

I'm confused at what a housing is. Do you mean the internals of the pump onto the reservoir/body or do you meant brackets

Just took it apart, pretty straight forward. Soaking the housing to get it clean and paint it when I get it back together.

Rebuilt or new?

Anyone use the CARDONE 20860 rebuilt unit?
