I made some diagrams, have all the parts to make my own relay upgrade, but after replacing the regulators, motors, and switches the windows close is less than 4 seconds, so I didn’t bother with the relays (yet).
The power feed to the doors is already heavy gauge and has a circuit breaker. The drivers door has a heavy ground also. The potential issues I see with the stock wiring is that the switches carry the load, and the passenger door has a smaller ground which jumps over to the driver side door.
Here are my drawings based off a 2 door (my K5). One is factory and the other is modified to use relays. The only wire added is a ground to the passenger door.
If anyone happens to feel the need to redraw them in a nice format, or finds any errors, please post them.
