I put new headers on my 1987 1/2 ton pick up it has a tbi 350 in it. There's a hose that went from the manifold around the motor into the other manifold what is this and how do I get the piece that wraps around the back of the motor off. Thanks

It's either part of the smog or egr. It went from one manifold to the other manifold on the othe other side of the motor but the hose goes around the back of the motor

I'll snap a picture of it later. I just want it gone as it now serves no purpose

Are the hoses still hooked up to something? If not, does the truck run any different? If not hell with it, take them off.

I can't figure how to take them off they aren't hooked up because I put headers on and done away with the manifolds

The hoses are part of the smog pump system. There is a bracket that attaches the hose to a bolt that is behind the block just below the intake manifold. Its a pita to get to, but it with patience it can be removed. When I removed mine, I found it easier to cut the metal tube iinto smaller pieces in order to get it out. Since you have replaced the exhaust manifolds with headers, they are absolutely useless.
