Hey guys,

I just signed up for the site yesterday. Looks like there is a ton of information in this community that will help me out with my truck. My truck is a 1980 Custom Deluxe, single cab, long bed, 4wd, and manual transmission. It has been in the family since 83 and is what I learned to drive in on our farm. It is a farm truck, so it's a little beat. I finally had it shipped from our old farm to my home this past week and am excited to get to working on it. It runs and drives, but it hasn't left the farm for the past seven years up until now, so it needs little work (the tires are from 1990!).

First thing first is I need to find new rubber hoses for the fuel filler necks as some dbag cut them both to siphon fuel out of the tanks.

Anyway, here it is!

Absolutely Classic!

Love to own that one, looking forward to seeing what you do with her, though the patina on that paint is hard to duplicate.

Thanks! I am excited too. Nothing too drastic, I like it pretty close to the way it is. I'll liven up the interior a little with insulation, seats, and the like to make it a little more cozy for sure.

You're right on that patina, that's decades of genuine sun baked farm work for you.

The part about someone cutting the fuel tank filler hoses gave me an idea. I'm wondering if braided stainless radiator hose covers over the filler hoses would impede thieves? I've never had a vehicle that had braided hose covers so I don't know how hard they are to cut. Anyway welcome to the forum!
