I'm looking to replace the bed on my truck soon. The truck has the chrome molding on it around the wheel wells and the doors and down the side of the bed. The new bed I'm getting does not have any molding on it. Does anyone know how they are attached? I don't want to remove it from the door and end up with a bunch of holes from clips that was holding it on. It'd be nice to put the molding back on after I put the new bed on. The picture below shows the chrome moldings I'm talking about if there was confusion.

it's an assortment around the truck. It's a combination of sticky tape, screws, clips and studs/nuts.

Hmm bummer. Ok thank you! I was hoping it was just the double sided type and maybe a couple screws. I'll see what I can work with this bed... maybe a little bondo work on the cab and fenders to just due away with the trim work.

IMHO, the trim just looks "right" on the 70's trucks.

I agree. Just thinking that removing it off the front of the truck would be easier than drilling into the bed I'm getting

It's only a few holes. The bedside trim uses more sticky tape than anything else. The front fender trim will leave a ton of holes behind.

Ok cool. I'll see if I can just attach it to the new bed then. Thank you!

Bucket is right.. The front has a bunch of holes.. I would rather drill the box for the few holes. Im dealing with this now as im sticking new fenders on and its hole less. I think im going to cheat a bit. Fill in the holes. Then im going to find pin striping to trace out the lines that the aluminum trim was in.
