for $30 I don't know why you would even bother messing with the used one in the yard, that may fail tomorrow. and for what it's worth, the replacement numbers for square body and the GMT 400 are the same. your improvement is likely from having an old worn-out border, versus having a brand new motor, not any actual upgrade to the motor itself.
