Hey guys, New member here, 1980 sierra grande 2500 4x4 beater with a heater!

Just curious how does everyone beef up the hoods where they inevitably crease? I’ve welded in bracing in the past but the hood was already jacked at that point and I was just trying to keep it functional on my previous 79 blazer bush truck. Just interested to here other ideas on this never ending issue. Thanks guys

Hello and welcome. I'm pretty sure the LMC catalog has the hood braces and Brothers Trucks part number HBK7387 at their website.

I've found ,in addition to the hinge lube ,if you push slightly toward the windshield as you pull down ,it works better

I have those from lmc on my hood and theyre not all that sturdy... mine cracked at the crumple zone and somebody creased it trying to close it. I actually close mine by standing against the pass. fender and laying my arm on the hood long ways over the crease and pull down. My hood is relatively easy to close

That's good to know. I've never had the creasing hood problem on the Squares I own, I've seen the braces though and thought I'd let the op know.
