But, didn't Blazers come out with white tops? My memory, skewed and as fornicated as it is, can't remember seeing a body color match come from the factory.

Various colors, yeah. Black, white, cream and later on in the production run, dark charcoal gray. So for a solid color K5, black ones and white ones were the most common.

They were tinting fiberglass, right? Or was it strictly paint?

I don't know because I had a 72 Bronco and it was painted steel.

The color was in the textured coating. Best I can remember, all of them are white on the inside and if the outside gets damaged, white fiberglass is under the color coating.

I think all of them '73-80 were white but in the '80s there were also black, blue and tan tops depending on the colors of the truck. Might've been more but those are the 3 colors I've seen in person

Yep and over time the color will fade/start coming through too. I had a Blazer years ago with a dark blue top on it that was kinda purple-ish and some white places showing through where the texture had worn thin.

The 70's had black and cream as well. My black '77 has the original black top on it still. I used to have a white '77 with a white top, but the original combo was dark metallic brown paint, woodgrain two-tone between the bodyside trim and a cream colored top. That's probably a rare combo, wish I would have kept it and put it back to original.

Ahh good to know. I'll have to pay more attention to the top combos on K5s now when I'm out at shows lol

Yeah, me too. I couldn't remember all the various colors available in the 80's.
