I have a 78 Chevy truck. I bought a new selector switch and bezel but can figure out how to mount it. It appears the holes the bezel snaps into is to loose? Are the holes too big? It was fine when I took out the old one. Will not fit snug is there supposed to be a clip on the back or something that holds it into the dash?

Will the new switch work in the old bezel?

Good question. I wonder if you got the correct switch, the plugs are different tho. Do you have the actual wire plug or do you just have crimped female connectors on it in the correct place?

The switch plugs in and works fine it’s the bezel that doesn’t hold the switch in place when you align it in the two holes. Seems like the holes are to big or the bezel little plastic things are to small

Does the switch fit in the dash good? Problem is with the bezel? Sometimes Aftermarket don't fit like it should

I had similar issues with other car switches in the past.....wound up cutting thin strips of black tape and wrapping the bezel to make it fatter and to fit tight.

Aftermarket 'fit' is a pig in a poke anymore.

I bought a 10/32nd threader and put threads on the back of the bezel. Bought some nuts and screwed it on works great. Thanks for the responses.
