The FiTEch would replace that system, but I'm pretty sure it is used for the ESC system on those 305's... probably not the same signal.

You DO know that you won't pass california smog with that system... right?

The only CARB legal Carb to EFI conversion I know of is the MSD Atomic EFI: https://www.jegs.com/i/MSD+Ignition...AGq781vzIugQbvP_blnLQeFNNGph7PpxoCWjAQAvD_BwE

I wouldn't touch anything FiTech with a 10ft pole, all of their stuff is junk. But, I would start by calling FiTech. They'll want to know your truck year and certain details. I would assume the TPS would be in the body to sense the opening of the butterflies/shaft movement and that would communicate to the computer, so that wire should go somewhere in the computer.

Interesting that the kit without the fuel pump is legal in CA, but the same throttle body kit with fuel pump kit included is not legal in CA. LAME!

86 is a Quadrajet with the electronic idle mixture valve. I think the TPS is only used for that and the ESC system... I don't think it has much of a "computer" like an 87 did.

Maybe we are all confused on what is being asked here. I read his initial post as his original quadrajet has an electronic TPS and he doesn't know what he is supposed to do with the original wire going to that when he swaps the FiTech on there. It seems like the GM TPS signal has always been about the same(0.5v to 4.5v), but I have no idea what the FiTech one is.

I went back and re-read, I think you're right.

I’m also worried about that what should I do with that connection since my distributor does have that connection

Holley owns MSD... it's the same one(even has the same part numbers). You can even see in the pictures that everything is labeled MSD and the TBI has MSD molded into the end of it.
DUH!...lol... I was quickly looking and didn't see the details. Ironically, though, both kits on the Holley website are CARB compliant, but both are not on JEGS.
