I everyone. Im new to this forum thanks for having me. I recently insulated a rebuilt small block in my 78 c20 and now the fuel gauge is not working properly. I posted a video to YouTube here is the link https://youtu.be/c5kueK1DFYQ Thanks for the input

I kinda feel like this is a grounding issue under the hood. I don't know if messing with the ground wires and straps when you swapped motors could have done anything, but it's worth checking since it's all interconnected. Are all your grounds in correspondence to this diagram? The strap is gonna be on the passenger side head, by the way. Do you just have the single tank or duals?

Also the wire from the sender goes down the passenger side frame rail did you happen to pinch the wire? If you have access to an ohm meter you can check continuity between the sender and gauge, would be best if you had piercer probes? If you had a power probe it would be easier but you can check for voltage from the sender. 5 volts is usually full .

I pinch that wire once and it did the something

Thanks guys ill check into it. My truck head dual tanks at one time and the removed the passenger side tank.
