I want 10 or 11 inch wide rallies in the rear. Been toying with the idea of cutting out the centers, flipping and rewelding into a widened barrel. Anyone done anything similar on here?

It will be time consuming and extremely hard to get it welded together without excessive run out. There are shops that do wheel modifications (with jigs) and that usually is the best way to go if what you want is not sold anywhere. But you can buy 10" wide versions of the truck rally.

I've never dealt with them myself, but my 4 wheeler magazines have mentioned Stockton Wheel quite a few times in the past. They can even turn classic rallies into a 16"x12" if you want.

I'm a machinist and welder and used to widen wheels professionally haha, was more or less just looking for pics, the work itself is no problem for me

These were mine on my old VR6 swapped golf in the pic. Factory passat wheels widened from 6" to 8" using a set of donor wheels. That was my first set, when I was 22, ran straight as an arrow.

Yeah, that's awesome! I'd harass you about widening a pair of IROC wheels, but they don't make an appropriate tire for that anymore, so I'll leave you alone

Very nice- most of us only have a dremel to modify parts.

I like the VW stuff also. I have a slightly lowered Golf and a lowered and modified Passat.
