How close is the way at least the 80s squares are assembled? For example is there really any difference in my 81 vs my 85 the way they are assembled? The reason I am asking is because I have a copy of a 82 factory assembly manual about 1600 pages thick that covers the C-K line up. If anyone could use this info for putting these beloved squares together let me know, some of the pages are hard to read but there is very detailed info how these trucks are put together.

Really, agree with smurph20!

Someone needs to borrow that manual from SClassic, take it to Kinko's (or some similar place).

They can get it reproduced & scanned. Convert to a PDF and burn to disk. Zip it and upload to a hosting site for downloading.

I'd do it, but my house is not near Iowa.

I'd like to see this myself. I know there's assembly manuals out there for other Chevrolets but never seen one for our trucks.

Dude, those are the original design blueprints.

Notice the revisions, removals and assembly notes - even shows the approval signatures of the engineers.

I don't mean to sound like a nerd but - this epic. 1600 pages, it probably belongs in a museum.

You have to publish these documents.

Where in the heck did you ever find this?

Please consider mailing that or copies of it to one of the staff to scan and post in the library.

I've seen those for the cars before, but never for trucks. They are very cool because they show where every last nut and bolt go, and even include things like the panel gap tolerances.
