Exhaust cutouts using electronic throttle body?

There are plastic gears and a printed circuit board inside an ETB, I'm not sure how long it will last with exhaust temperatures. It could be worth a try if you can get it cheap or free.

Also, they are designed to not fully close, for idle air. Not sure if it would ever seal completely but it may not be enough to matter.

It is a cool idea tough, I'd like to see someone try it and see how it works.

The fully closed issue could be solved with a bead welded infront of the flap
The plastic parts might be a problem
Maybe it could be torn down and the shaft extended long enough away to prevent melting issues and be installed in a seperate housing?
