So recently I had to adjust the timing on my 305. Well I didn't really know what the PO did to the engine, so I rotated the engine to TDC, but when I first did this I rotated it counterclockwise and I think I loosened it, so then I ended up going clockwise to get it to TDC, adjusted the timing, all is good and well. I also went ahead and replaced the belt while I was at it. Well when I first ran the engine all good, no wobbles, nothing. Well I've developed a squeal as of recently, only on acceleration. There was not a squeal before any of this. Also, I popped the hood while it was running and looks like the belt is a little wobbly around the harmonic balancer area. I'm just taking a wild guess that is why it's squealing on acceleration. What do you think I did? Could I have loosed that pulley too much? Or is there not enough tension on the belt? Like I said, I don't recall seeing the wobbling, and there definitely wasn't squealing when I first did all this.
