Anybody ever replace one of these? Looks like the check valve failed and the air pump was not connected at some point and the hot exhaust gases backed up and melted the electric air control (EAC) valve/solenoid assembly - also known as the diverter valve. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything or any company making them. The only part number on the thing is 73448, but no results. Not sure if the part is being manufactured or not. Just wondering if anyone had a part number on this thing or if someone has replaced in the past and knows where to find one. I need to pass emissions......

Also, there may have been some people on here who undid their emissions and saved the piece so a want ad maybe in order.

That's close, but not quite the right one. But, diverter valve was the keyword I was missing and now I'm getting more hits closer to the right part. Looks like they are expensive though, so probably going to see if I can find one on a junkyard...
They did appear to be a bit salty. I chucked mine otherwise you could of had it. That damn hind sight thing...

I lucked out and found one in a yard for $10. Now I've got everything back to working condition. But... When I went to retake the emissions test, I failed again, and this time with even higher HC numbers than before. What could be causing this?

Do you have any vacuum leaks that the system is compensating for and running rich? How do the plugs look?
