Do I need a Lift?

I have a 83 sierra. I am going to replace some of the suspension components. Question is, do i need a lift or should i just replace like for like? I am happy with the height of the truck but would like to add a beefier tire/wheel. Will 33s complicate stock suspension or can i leave stock height on the truck and still get 33 s.

Note i am not sold on 33s so i am open to suggestion to make my stance more aggressive.

You could probably get away with 33's stock, but I would just go with a two inch lift and 33's that'll give it a good stance

Lift it for sure , (I lift everything I own , but thats just me) I dont like the look of stock height square's.

If you want a mean look and off road your truck here and there I would go with a 4" lift and 33/12.50 tires on 10" wide wheels. 10 wide wheels gives you a big tire look going down the road and 4 inches of lift will clear them well off road to.

That's my vote , (GO FOR IT)!!!!!!!!!!!

I've always liked some sort of lift. The sad old negative arch front springs have never been my favorite. They bottom out going over rough railroad tracks even. With a slight lift and the right shocks I've found it rides so much better when you hit a big rough bump it is worth it.

I have a 4 inch lift, and 33/12.50's, with 10 inch wide wheels, and id say it doesnt give a big tire look, just a tall tire... too skinny for my taste. If he can get them in a wheel he likes, id go with a 12 inch wide wheel as the only difference, id be much happier with that!

I could'nt agree more , I love 12's , my kids truck has 35's on 14 wide and my mud tires for my blazer are 40's on 14 wide's but most people dont want to get really fat like that, hard on parts and the cops dont like the wide stuff to much thats why I said 10's. Looks wide enough for most and a good happy medium.

I run 12" wide wheels and I think they look really good. Person preference though.

I am happy with the height of the truck....

If you are happy with it, just get a more aggressive tire in your current size, or a size bigger, and be done with it.

I think you truck looks good as is, man! I'd go stock ride height.
As stated in all the other posts, it is personal preference.
