dexron VI in a th350?

Type F all the way.

Both are Dextron so they're compatible, if it's a fresh/dry tranny then I agree Type F for sure..

Yes it can be mixed I was thinking it was the synthetic stuff but it isn't. I like Type F no granny shifting going on here lol.

Type F is pretty much the same as B&M Trick shift just way cheaper. It gives firmer shift and in doing that it saves clutch pack life and reduces heat build up. Dextron promotes clutch slippage which causes heat but does give you a smoother shift. Lincoln uses Dexrton in their trannys for a smoother shift.

I know....that's why you said dry trans.....when I switch over they get new converters.

only thing i was going to do was drain the pan and replace the fluid and filter

You'll be good with the VI.

i plan on changing the filter and fluid then try to get out most of the old fluid by running one of the cooler lines into a bucket.
drain 4qt add 4qts etc....

i got 28 quarts so that should be enough to flush out the old stuff.
the trans is a rebuilt unit for oreilly auto and has a little over 20,000 on it the fluid is clear but it has started to darken.
