So, I've got 2 used tanks for my '87 project. Both are in decent shape, but have been sitting for a while before I got them. I know 1 for sure has some light surface rust. I've just started looking around for products to clean/treat the rust, and reseal the inside. So far I've found kits by KBS and Eastwood. Has anybody on here used these, or others like them, before? I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experience with this type of project. Good or bad.

The kits to reseal seem to be priced around $60 - $70 per kit. The ones I have don't leak, just need to be cleaned up. Whichever way I go, I'm into it for 2 tanks.

Before I got the second tank, I priced them new in the area, and they were around $120.

You can buy tanks off rock auto for far less than $100. I can get a new tank shipped to Canada for just over $100.

Check Rock Auto. Many tanks are as little as $65 each. Your time and energy should be worth more than shipping.

How do you do that ?

I was quoted $75 per tank for shipping. it was like $5 cheaper to buy in Canada for $165

Well, Rock Auto wants less than $15 to ship a tank to me. Looks that's the way I'll go.
