I have a 76 chevy c20 with a stock 454, and i was looking in to buying a new carb. I want vacuum secondary's but cant decide what carb to go with. What is some if your guys recommendations? I heard to put a 750 on it. I thought that sounded right but some people are saying to put a 600-650. I've seen those on stock 305 and 350. Ill be honest, I like to get into the throttle every now and then. What do you guys think? Cant really spend over $400 on one.

Yes spend the money on a well rebuilt Quadjet.

I am pretty sure even a 650 will not suffice for a big block. 750 minimum or possibly 850. Some Quadjets were 850.

Its too bad Edelbrock stopped selling new Quadjets :(

Quadrajet. You knew I would say that. These 40 year old Quadrajets need much more work than just a kit put in to work their best. I could build your existing one to better than new condition, or I may have a core I could build.
Most of the late 70's and early 80's 454 Quadrajets would flow up to 800 cfm

Yeah mine was made for a 454 motorhome and I think the jets/needles are wrong lol. I need to swap those out for the other ones I have during the rebuild.

The street demon is what my uncle wants me to get and I've read a lot of good things about it.
