I just bought my 89 burban and also have an 86 1-ton c&c. I have been looking all over for a place to buy a ranch hand style grill guard. I want something to mount some lights on and is heavy built.

Heavy built screams home built, it has been my experience with aftermarket things like this they skimp very badly with the heavy-duty part.

If you want something strong, it needs to be custom made, or really old aftermarket. The aftermarket stuff was heavy gauge at one time, but not anymore.

Exactly what bucket and 4x4 said, build your own and you can get whatever you want.

Tough to find stuff for them older trucks. I would think a custom shop might be the way to go. I know there are a couple shops here in Austin that do that sort of stuff.
