I joined here with a few questions about a dozen years ago when I bought a K10 from Colorado. Very shortly after someone offered be a ‘78 F100 that I could not pass up in trade so I moved to the Ford forums rather than being crucified here for my decision. Well, I’ve returned.

I closed the deal on this ‘83 a few days ago and pick it up Tuesday. It was a Georgia truck up until about 10 years ago when it came to Ohio where it was a nice weather use vehicle so it’s quite clean. Paint is about 4 years old and in great shape. Engine swapped for a 350 from a late ‘70s vette and the tranny is a 5 spd from a ‘90s Siverado plus a hydraulic clutch as a bonus. Very pleasant to drive and the anemic (by today’s standards) engine was surprisingly peppy.

Tint and a modest stereo upgrade will be immediate with wheels/tires when I get around to it.

I like those old Ford trucks from the 70s. There needs to be variety. My dad was a Ford and Mercury man, as well as his brothers. Somewhere along the line I went wrong and have owned nothing but Chevy and GMC from day 1.

This was the K10 and the F100 (straight 6/4spd) it was traded for.

Truth be told I probably lean more towards Fords BUT I like everything “cool” including some imports. I was on the hunt for another F100 4x4 but finding a nice one isn’t easy. There are way more nice K10/K20 for “reasonable” money. I don’t mean to sound like I think I am settling……I love this new to me truck and think it is the perfect vehicle for my wants/needs.

Welcome back in here. 78/79 F- pickups are my favorite among them. I'd still rather have a Square but thank the LORD we have freedom to choose! Enjoy that Square & stay with us awhile.

So what we're just suppose to welcome you back with open arms, after going to the dark side? I think I'm going to need a little compensation! I think if you send me that cowl induction hood we'll be good.

:welcome:back I guess...lol
