for the price you should go out and find a dana 60 from a cucv with 4.56 find a m1028 with a trac loc!

Yea that was my plan at first, didnt realize they were selling for $1000!!! Guess thats why mine was removed before they sold the truck. My long term goal is to pick up a m1008/28 from a surplus auction just for the axles and spare parts. But looking for a temp fix to get me through the winter with functional 4x4.

4.09 doesn't sound right. What you have is 4.10 if your calculation is correct.

Now here is another suggestion is to regear the 14 bolt to match the front, which would be a lot easier to do yourself than the front plus to find a used set of gears and carrier is a lot easier. Either way I may would be interested in the gear out of the front or the rear if you are planning on selling.

If you want to, you can post pictures of the numbers on the ring gear and I can help you figure out how to find out the ratio without all that counting and possibly miss counting

The only number I saw on the ring gear is 600, or maybe it's supposed to be 009.

I have to assume who ever stole the 60 out of the cucv, just had the dana 44 sitting somewhere, and we all know dana 44 never came with 4.56 gears
Probably occurred on base... SMH

if it did come from on base it would of had to come out of a dodge, no other trucks had 44s
You didn't understand. An off-road enthusiast working at base could, in fact, bring a d44 from a civy rig and swap it for a d60 in a matter of minutes. Wouldn't even take a half hour if he had everything ready. Think about it. Cookie cutter circumstances don't always apply.

I found a rear 14 bolt with 4.10 gears and out of an 84 Suburban. Would this be a direct replacement or would the spring perches be wrong? Wasn't sure since its out of a 3/4 ton truck.

the spring perches will be in a difference location than your 1 ton ones

I never knew the perches were different on the one tons.

If im not mistaken don't the 3/4 ton 4 door burbs use 1 ton frames? If so should be a direct replacement... i hope.

Nope I don't think so. My dads got a 3/4 ton burb frame with the 14 bolt FF on it and it measures the same as my 1/2 ton.

Sometimes you can pick up 1 ton crew cabs cheap with the 1 ton axles still under it.

So, what are the differences between the axles. Kinda curious now, as I wouldn't be surprised if a 14 bolt ff finds its way under my 87 3/4 ton.
