Anyone use a DCC fan controller?

So I've been searching around for fan controllers recently and stumbled upon this site. http://www.dccontrol.com/constant_temperature_controllers.htm From what I've read about them it's really high quality but abit hit and miss when it comes to customer service and how long it takes to get it. Some people get quick help, others can't get even the most basic questions answered. The product seems to be exactly what I want other than using a probe instead of a proper sensor. Dont use painless f5 duel went through 3 of them in 3 months.

Dont use painless f5 duel went through 3 of them in 3 months.

That's why I've spent as much time one my relays/wiring as I have the whole harness for the LS swap.

I've been looking at the flex a lite controller as well.

I'm planning to run a pair of Procomp 14" fans (PC-2053) that supposedly pull around 1800cfms ea at 11amps.

The flex a lite controllers are maxed at 45 amps of load on them, but they do have the 60% "soft" startup to minimize the peak amps.

The Derale dual fan controller has a staggered start, in that the first fan comes on whenever you've set it, but the second won't turn on until it's 10 degrees warmer than the chosen setting. So if you have two hurricane fans, you may never even turn on the 2nd fan.

They're rated for 35 amps per fan as well.

I'm planning on running a single fan from a 2010ish police interceptor. I definitely want a soft start to prolonge the life of my fan and ease the electrical load. That and I'm hoping I can squeak by with my 63 amp alternator since I never sit in traffic or do much to strain it, so running it at a low power is a must for me. I'm hoping the DCC guy will get back to me soon, I'd like to know when the order would be ready if I went with his controller.

I dont use PWM controllers anymore-about 3 years ago I quit using them-cant handle prolonged underhood heat-I started building my own 3-speed resistored control harnesses and havent went back! I just took two orders for my dual 14" F150 fan assemblies using my HD harness control for them. I preder to keep it simple with extreme over the top commercial grade relay triggers.

I thought about using a resistor and making my own two speed harness with some beefy relays, decided against it because I'm trying to get by with my stocker alternator for now and resistors would't reduce the power consumption. While the simplicity would definitely be more reliable if the right parts were used it isn't quite what I want.

I called them up with my voltage/amp readings I was getting and we worked out a model they have that will cut the inrush current from ~40 amps down to ~20. At $2.50 ea. at digikey I ordered 10. Amazon users used it for their blower motors on their home HVAC as well....that's why I ordered 10. Amazon's price was about $7 ea.

These were spec'd at 14.5 V @ 12 amps (TYC replacement fan for a 98 windstar).

This is my F150 fan assembly for a BBC or 6.2 Diesel application-monster measures out at 34" wide, 19" tall and 6.50" depth. Moves approx 6000 CFM according to a few Ford sites. I did an initial test when I designed a 3-speed conversion harness for it and it was downright scary how much air they move! As measured on my inductive amp probe I measured 16, 23 and 32 amps on low, medium and high speed.
