Looks suspiciously like an adapter to put a spreadbore on square bore manifold

Or the other way round.

Im using that same style adapter to run a edlebrock AVS2 (squarebore) on the edlebrock performer (spreadbore) intake.

It only appears to be counter bored 9n the square bore side tapped on the spreadbore side so I think it will only work square bore manifold to spread bore carb

I got it from a homeless guy driving by during covid. I was working on the truck and he stopped and had this and an edelbrock carb that didn't quite have all the parts to it. Lol

He wanted 200 bucks for it. I gave him 25 because I felt bad for him and wanted to help him. He had 3 people living out of his truck.

I knew I'd probably never use it. Then ran across it cleaning up.

It has the topside facing up in the second pic. It bolts to the manifold with allen bolts and is threaded for carb studs.

I don't know too much about airflow and velocity and such, but those 4-holers HAVE to impead flow greatly. The primary butterflies open up, sending air directly at the adapter. I have one that I modified to improve flow, but keep the plenum divided.

I dont really get why it only works one way.

I habe about 4 of those, and i use em both ways with no issues. Mine are more open in the middle though..

The ones that work both ways don't have threaded holes. The countersunk holes have hex shapes in them so the bolt can't spin when installed from one direction.

Ah, okay, that makes sense. So you can install carb studs in them, instead of threw them.
The 2 ways you run the stud threw the plate. Makes sense

Thanks
