I've always tried to stick to factory GM stuff.
Can't out engineer GM but..
Anyone bolt on aluminum heads?
Was the cost worth it?
I have a few big blocks sitting around with 049 and 781 castings.
Debating on redoing the stock heads or buying new aluminum heads.

on a sbc absolutely big block is alot more expensive so not as many do the swap, it depends on your goals to determine if its worth it.

I put a set on the big block in my stepside
to me it was worth it I need to to have me stock heads
rebuilt when I was building my motor and the cost was about half the cost of aluminum heads
so I sprung for new heads and I also love the weight savings as well
