i put an old school 350 in my 86, with a holley carb, can i simply unhook all the electrical wires that went to the factory carb at the firewall bulkhead connector to the fuse box

Are we talking two wires or five wires going to the carb? You’ll be fine getting rid of them. Even if you sold that truck and someone put a Quadrajet on it, they don’t make the temp sensor for the dual capacity accelerator pump that yours came with.

no i'm going to keep the truck, just trying to clean up the engine compartment by getting rid of all the unnecisary wires dangling from the firewall
