Hi all, I’m restoring an 83 K10 and have added AC. I’ve got all of the vents worked out except the “center left” which is the one that comes through the top right side of the instrument bezel.

My understanding is that this vent

Is essentially sandwiched between this box:

And the bezel itself, which the above box is screwed to:

I have these parts and when I assemble them as described, the vent just flops around in there. It’s not secure at all. Am I missing a part? Assembling incorrectly? Any help is appreciated.

If it is just the directing part, then it is just felt washers or similar material. I used gasket material before to make them stop flopping

Thanks for the responses guys. I think my issue is CHINA per usual. It seems the “box” is simply too wide, and it doesn’t catch the pins on the vent. I can literally slide the vent in one side of the box, through, and out the other side. Poor manufacturing practices I guess??

Edit: Uh oh, looks like my issue is actually America this time lol. Dug the shipping box out of the trash and found that USA1 shipped me the incorrect part.
