I did the conversion to my other non square truck last summer. Its a 93, right near the last of the r12 systems, 65 bucks for the kit including all new o-rings. It was completely empty of r12 so none to recover and I'm a residential HVAC tech so I already had vacuum pump and gages and micron gage to get the deep vac. But if you had to buy the tools your well more then the $150 for tools your never going to use again. Cheap hf gages are 60 bucks, a vacuum pump capable of pulling a vacuum down to < 500 microns 3-500 bucks, micron gage to know your at a deep vacuum and holding 250 bucks. So paying 150 for the conversion is definitely worth it. As long as there's nothing else wrong with it. Do the checks mentioned above and you should be happy.
