Hey all, figured I'd finally join after this site helped me with my '85. Thanks for answering a lot of questions!

Have a shortbox c1500 that had a 6.2. Lucky me since I'm in California, I was able to swap an LQ9 into it.

Poor thing sat for about 10-15 years and suffered from hard starting after finally getting it running... after 2 starters, a set of batteries, glow plugs, etc and hours of cranking. After rebuilding the injector pump twice and all other fueling components I gutted the thing. Lost .2 liters and picked up about 250 horses - math I'm content with.

Figured I'd give back to the community and offer any advice on a swap like this, but it seems like you all have it pretty well figured out!

Thanks again for helping me get an awesome rig up and running!

Not sure if those will come up.. first attempt at uploading pics from the phone. Haven't taken too many glamor shots of the thing yet.

It was actually quite easy to do - seems like the two were practically made for each other. Hardest part was wiring, but that just required due dilligence; even the minor fab work for motor mounts and pcm rework were of relative ease.

If you ever find a good candidate for a swap don't hesitate to shoot me a pm and I can set you up with all the resources that made mine fairly easy.
