I’m sure 4.56s and a 261 ratio np208 combined with the 6.2 would climb a wall if they had the traction.

I’m weird though. If I were a blue collar guy in the 80s buying a new square, i’d probably give the 6.2 serious consideration in the hopes of tweaking it for good economy and longevity. Those are still my two main considerations for engines.

Although, if I were said guy doing what I do now, having to tow tractors fairly often...I’d probably have little choice but to go for the 454. Actually, I’d probably need a C50 to tow my John Deere 410 regularly without beating the crap out of the tow vehicle.

Then again, I’m the guy in the slow lane doing 60 with the semis by choice anyhow...
Not so sure about them climbing walls with that combo. I watched a m1009 (blazer version) struggle to back up over a curb at a car show last summer, and those had 3.08 gears in the axles. Granted, I have to doubt he was using low range, at least I hope he wasn't. The 4.56 geared m1008 trucks were more tractor like than anything. When the guy who bought mine picked it up, he had an equipment trailer instead of a regular car hauler. I put the truck into 4 low, and it idled up the ramps.

Actually running about 3200ish @ 55mph. I could squeak 60mph out of mine when I had it, but that was about the limit.
Probably why the PO of my truck swapped 3.73s

No doubt. The plan I had for mine, was an overdrive manual swap. Even then, I still didn't expect to see anything above 65mph.
