All those special editions make me so jealous I wasn't around when these trucks were new on the market. I would have myself such a nice square body if I was around back then. Or maybe not since back then they probably weren't as awesome as they are now. Just how I think anything newer than '91 is not nearly as badass as these, but probably will be in another 20 years.

I remember reading an article online of the beginnings of the 454SS, It was actually a shortbed 85 c10,I think, and it was actually a project of the GM performance division, but was also an Un-autharized project. If I can find the link, I will post it.
You can do it, you just need to find a 90-93 with a TBI 454, and use the emissions equipment listed for the 90 454ss, and your golden. That is, if emissions inspections are necessary where you are.
