Hey guys I'm new here and would like to know if any of you have had any experience with Iskys 264 megacam or 262 supercam in a 400 smallblock? I'm looking for very strong low and midrange torque for my 77 k20 it has a th350 stock converter and 3.73 gears A/C power brakes. I've used dual pattern cams on all my other builds but was thinking of trying the single pattern with tighter lsa that people say makes huge torque rather than high rpm horsepower I'm not as interested in. my build is a .30 over 400 block 5.7 rod 22 cc dish piston with vortec heads with the exhaust side reworked and capable of .500 lift. 9.7-1 compression, sorry for length here guys and thanks in advance!

I built a 406 for a boat years ago. There is lots of build/cam info via an internet search as the 406 is a terribly common build these days so you probably won't get much advice here. If I remember correctly, most builds favored a dual pattern cam for low end grunt but a single pattern might work well for your combo.

I have numerous magazines that featured the 406 builds, let me look through them and see if anyone had specs on a single pattern.

I have a 234/244 in a 406 in my vette but it is lighter than your truck and has a stall. For a stock converter in a heavy truck my guess and its just a guess, is 225-230* max duration. You need a cam that starts below the stock stall so it wont buck and has enough built to move the truck as desired. I like this chart for narrowing down the choices of cams.
