4" or 6" lift for 3/4 ton??

I have an 84 3/4 ton. I'm looking to run 35x12.5 boggers on 16x10's. Trying to decide on 4" or 6" suspension lift. If there are any similar builds out there I could see that'd be awesome thanks!

I have 4" with 315/70/17 tires(probly measure 34"-34 1/2")on 9" wide wheels and i have no rub but i think with that wheel and tire combo, you would rub with only 4". Probably wouldnt be bad tho.

I have a 3" lift on my K30, but it works out to a 5" for a K10/20 due to the taller frame on a K30. These are 305/70/16's on 16x10 wheels (4.5" BS). I'm guessing a 6" lift would be in order for 35's on a 10" wide wheel. Trimming may be necessary if you have wheels with less than 4.5" of back spacing.

If you want to run boggers i would keep them off the street. They won't last long at all. You just as soon save a few bucks and just get a set of radial tires bc they will be bald in no time.

Keep in mind that with a 6" , you will have more mods to do over a 4" , like lengthening driveshafts, brake lines,steering, etc.

They will rub with even 6" of lift, if you get it even a little twisted. Big ass knobby tires like the boggers you desire will only make matters worse, AND when those paddles eventually meet metal the damage will be significant. Are you in need of boggers for looks or mud performance?
You could get away with 6" and from ORD or DIY4x4 the 1" block (zero-rate @ ORD) and with this you can move the axle forward 1" as well. Then the majority of triming is on the 'fang'. Cut it off just below the side horizontal marker light. You will still need to trim some off the rear of the fender opening. Also lower your bump stops. This will give you almost enough clearance to avoid drama short of seriously twisting up your truck.
Maybe you could outline how you actually want to use the truck.

I am running the metric equivalent of 35’s on 16 inch wheels - I forget all the numbers. I have a 4 inch lift. There is a little scraping of the metal. I went down from a 6 inch lift. The older I get, the less I want to climb into a truck!

Shiftpro has some very good points there. How you want to use the truck and how you lift it will make a difference.

A stiff suspension with the swarbar still mounted in the stock fashion will not flex much at all and will have less rubbing.

Softer springs and removing the sway bar will cause you to rub pretty bad even with a 6" lift.

I have a 5" lift in the front (4" ORD springs and a zero rate) and what turned out to be a 6" lift rear (2.5" shackle flip, new 56" springs and an axle relocation plate). Tires are 315/75R16 (34.6" tall) No sway bar. If my front fenders weren't trimmed I'd be rubbing. And I'm only on 8" wide wheels.

Here is my 3/4 ton, 4” front 2” back. Originaly had a 2” all around but it had a rake to it so upgraded to 4” in the front. Now has a slight squat. I’m running 35x12.5x17. No rubbing but I don’t take it off road.

I have a K20 with a BDS 6” lift and run super swamper IROKs 36” (actually measure almost 37”). I still have the front sway bar connected and the BDS lift is stiff. I only had to do very minor trimming on the rear of the front fender. I mostly play in the mud and maybe a little hill climbing/ rocks. As someone pointed out boggers on the street get torn up pretty quickly. I have a friend with boggers that it happened to. Mine has street tires on at the moment or I would have posted a pic for you guys.

BDS isn't a very popular option so there's not much to be heard these days of ride quality. I'm surprised you say yours is stiff. I've run a pair of 4" BDS springs for years on a daily driver and the ride was always good, and flex is good too. Ride quality is the same or better than the stock springs actually.

My front springs are "zone offroad" made by bds. They are pretty stiff, but not jar your teeth stiff. From the reviews I've read, i dont think they're as stiff as "rough country", but I've never run "rough country".
