3/4 ton short bed

Seen a ad on craigslist that I thought was bull. the guy says that the truck is a 3/4 ton short bed truck, however I know they didn't make one from the factory.

What do you guys think? probably a lwb cut down to a swb?

Most likely a 1/2 ton with 3/4 ton axles. Which tecnically makes it a 3/4 ton.

so is the frame on a K10 the same as what's on the K20 except for the axles?

Yeah but the one tons do have thicker frames, and different spacing of the frame rails.

I thought the frame rails were the same width, but the difference was the spring perch location was set to the inside of the frame.

They are, but the hangers are different. And the 1 ton rails are taller in the mid section too.

There's a lot diferent between the frames much taller in middle if you compair two you will see diferences.. also the springs would be diferent on 3/4 ton so technicaly you can't just throw 3/4 ton axles under half ton n call it 3/4 ton. It does not have the same hauling capacity..

ACTUALLY, other than leaf count. 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton share the same leaf perch postions on the axle. The onyl difference, is that 3/4 ton had a longer spring, but could have easily moved the front hanger.

3/4 ton axles are a direct bolt up to a 1/2 ton truck.

Yup, and even 1-tons are easy to convert.
