I decided to replace my 4WD TH350 after it stopped working, and I found a 2WD TH350 from a mid 70's chevy truck. The seller said it's a long tail shaft trans.

So my question is how possible is it to make the 2WD trans into a 4WD?

If it's possible, what will I need to do? and could I use parts from my current trans?

It can be done but you have to completely disassemble both transmissions to swap the 4WD tailshaft into the 2WD trans. The tailshaft assembly won't come out of the rear of the trans, it has to come out of the front. Specialty tools are required, so you may as well rebuild your old trans in that scenario.

This, it winds up being rebuild labor, except you still have a used trans.
