1996 ecm in a 1980 short bed

Ok here is the question . did the ecm in a1996 5.7 2500 2 wheel drive have vats the key was all brass no chip . I just want to get it started.

On the MILs 97 Lumina i soldered a resistor into the whites wire going to the ignition switch but I had the right key to get the resistor value
