Wiring harness arrived from BP Automotive

I had a package waiting on my door step when I got home today. I got my harness and ecm back from BP Automotive and i'm beyond impressed. I got the premium build that has a fuse block and relays. Everything is nicely labeled and comes with instructions. I also had him wire in a Dakota digital vss generator to send the ecm the speed signal for better driveability. This will attach to the transfer case and the speedo cable attaches to the other end.I ended up ordering a brand new harness instead of having mine reworked. I sold off my harness from my dropout to recoup some of the cost.

Nice! I really appreciate the detail in the build, you're helping myself, and I'm sure others who are planning to do this.

It's ready to start putting the accessories back on and she will be ready to drop in. Still need to buy fuel lines and fittings, so once I do I will post my parts list with cost.

Today I got most of the accessories put on. I bought a new water pump, 160 degree stat, idler pulley, tensioner, and I'm reusing the power steering pump and alternator (waiting to mount) that came on my engine. I also put on the 1" setback engine mount plates. I think I have my fuel system figured out now too and will post about that once I get into the actual swap. I'm tentatively going to start the swap in about 3 weeks.

Looking good! I've been considering the BP Automotive harness over building my own, but haven't quite decided yet. I kind of like the idea of building my own, I rather enjoy wiring. Plus, it's an excuse to buy tools. :D

making a stand alone harness isnt really all that difficult and would save you a bunch of money. check out lt1swap.com he goes over everything to cut in the harness and which wires to tie into your new fuse block. 2 relays and your ready. i did mine, only took about 3-4 hrs. taking my time and triple checking every wire before and after i cut.

I dropped in the 5.3l today!

Well, it is officially bolted in. Now on to cooling system, wiring, and fuel system.

Yes, but I'm going to wait to tackle that next spring. Looking to get it on the road for now, won't need the air until next summer anyways.

Looking really good.

I like the Chevy Orange!

What are you gonna do for the transmission 4x4 torque bars? Can they be bolted in with the cups on top of the adapter plate?

Did you change rads with the swap for extra cooling? or was that just your old rad?

I have been thinking of this swap for mine but I'm am thinking of going old school with the Edelbrock Carb manifold and firing control module.
