I bought an RTT. Have multiple vehicles I will be swapping it to in the family. My truck is at the start of it's revival (paint/resto). Not painting yet so don't want hard mount rack I'd have to remove....
Bought some gutter mount Thule cross bars. What's the max load y'all would toss up on them? I can't find any factory stats. Can't mount on a bed rack as I need to load motorcycles in the bed. So cab is where the tent will go.
Has anyone put a sizeable load on these gutters with success? Thanks

Those drip rails are just held on by a few sheet metal screws. That makes me nervous just looking at it.

My thought too. Debating on maybe more screws? Lol. For ***** and giggles I stood on one of the bars with no perceivable movement...
Also maybe pull the gutters and add some sort of bonding agent like jb weld or something. /shrug

I wouldn't. As stated there's not much holding those on. Even if you bond them to the metal, it's still just sheet metal. At the minimum, I'd add some feet underneath that spread the load to the roof but even then, it's thin sheetmetal. What all are you wanting to put up there?
