Bought a 87 v30 single wheel that currently has 16.5 x 12 Weld super single wheels with 36x14.5x16.5 tires. My question is if I change rims do I go up to a 17 or down to a 16? I would still be running at least 35 x12.5 tire because of the lift on the truck. If so would it be a 17x8 or 17x10 or 16x8 or 16x10? Could I run a 12.5 tire on these widths? Thanks for any help. Just want to get away from 16.5 rims.

I'm going to run 17x9" on my truck with 4.5" of back spacing. It should put the centerline on the same location as my old 16.5 x 9.75 Outlaw II's. I'm going to run a 305/70R17 (33.9"). 315/70R17 are about 34.5" tall and close to 12.5" wide.

What size lift are you running? 4"?

I think I would let the tire selection decide which way to go on rim size. What size has more available tires to select from and is easier on the wallet?

Are those wheels the same offset and size, front and back?
The pic makes them look different to me.
